At Stag and Boar Academy, our mission is to provide a fun, safe, and demanding European martial arts experience for those looking to engage in the knightly arts and explore the treatises of the medieval fighting masters. Want to perfect your swordsmanship prowess like a 15th century Italian or German knight? We gotcha. Wanna fight like a 12th century monk of the Holy Roman Empire and learn the intricate ways of sword and buckler? We can do that too. Wanna learn the ancient art of the battle spear? Yup, we do that. As one progresses, our students receive dynamic instruction on several fighting systems, all of which are studied with a special emphasis on the historical fight books of the masters themselves!

Our current systems include 15th and early 16th century longsword, 13th and 14th century "Knightly" sword and shield, 12th and early 13th century sword and buckler, the 15th century Rondel Dagger, and the Spear throughout the medieval period. We organize each system based around the "fightbooks" of the age: Master Lichtenauer's Zettle, Ma
Our current systems include 15th and early 16th century longsword, 13th and 14th century "Knightly" sword and shield, 12th and early 13th century sword and buckler, the 15th century Rondel Dagger, and the Spear throughout the medieval period. We organize each system based around the "fightbooks" of the age: Master Lichtenauer's Zettle, Master Fiore Dei Liberi's "Flower of Battle", and MS I.33 or the "Tower Fechtbuch", along with several interpretations and iterations of the treatises by students and contemporaries such as Filippo Vadi, Achille Marozzo, Sigmund Ain Ringeck, Peter Von Danzig, Lew, and Master Hans Talhoffer.
